We are seeking a dedicated Engineer – Mech/Steam/HTHW to join our team at HMP Chelmsford, a Category B & adult/male Prison.

As an Engineer – Mech/Steam/HTHW, you will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference and providing a secure environment.

We are a Ministry of Justice business providing critical, time-bound services to HMPPS and are looking for an Engineer – Mech/Steam/HTHW with the following experience:
* At least two years’ experience as a steam boiler operator or equivalent
* Knowledge of Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8 requirements
* Familiarity with BG01 - safe operation of boilers
* Experience with commercial or industrial steam, heating, and water systems
* Plumber qualification (C&G 6035, C&G 6189, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
* BOAS accredited boiler operator course or equivalent
* Good Health & Safety knowledge
* Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
