Description Start Date: Saturday 13th September End Date: Saturday 13th September Working Hours: 9am - 4:30pm Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour plus holiday pay Location: Medical School, University of Nottingham Dress Code: Clinical Skills blue polo shirt The duties will include: Represent the University of Nottingham by providing a welcoming and professional first point of contact for prospective students and their guests. Share personal insights and lived experiences of studying Health Sciences to help visitors understand the academic, practical, and social aspects of the programme. Direct guests to relevant academic staff for course-specific discussions and advice. Guide visitors to scheduled presentations and subject talks aligned with their interests. Assist in coordinating and escorting guests to Health Science facility tours, ensuring timely arrival and an informative experience. Skills and experience required for the role: Communication skills – able to explain health science topics and university life clearly to prospective students and their guests Teamwork – working collaboratively with other ambassadors, staff, and volunteers during events. Adaptability – comfortable adjusting plans based on event changes or visitor needs. Interpersonal skills – approachable, friendly, and able to build rapport quickly. Organisation & time management – managing schedules, helping with guided tours when needed, and keeping activities running smoothly. Problem-solving abilities – handling unexpected questions or situations professionally. Teamwork in multidisciplinary settings – work alongside students from different health science streams (nursing, physio, public health, etc.).
