About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Leader to oversee and support daily warehouse operations within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the warehouse "wins the day" across safety, quality, service, cost and team engagement.
This role is ideal for an individual with strong warehouse leadership experience gained externally, who understands the pressures of material picking, stock movement and despatch, and who can help elevate warehouse performance, inventory accuracy and operational standards.
You will provide visible frontline leadership, support Tier 2 daily meetings, and drive continuous improvement-particularly around stock accuracy, workflows and establishing standard work.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Leadership & Operations
Provide frontline supervision and leadership to warehouse employees.
Ensure daily warehouse activities run safely, efficiently and in line with quality and service expectations.
Identify, lead and close safety improvements; ensure Risk Assessments remain current and relevant.
Promote and enforce safe working practices (manual handling, LOTO, COSHH).
Warehouse Performance & Tier Meetings
Establish and run effective Tier 2 meetings, coaching teams on inventory accuracy, problem resolution and quality conformance.
Monitor daily operational metrics including picking performance, stock accuracy and workflow efficiency.
Attend Tier 3 meetings and collate reports on warehouse productivity, outputs and key KPIs.
Systems, Standards & Improvements
Ensure accurate, compliant and effective use of SAP or other Warehouse Management Systems.
Support continuous improvement activities focused on stock accuracy, despatch performance and standard work.
Bring external experience to drive best practices and elevate warehouse processes.
Provide operational guidance on picking, materials movement, stock flow and despatch.
Experience & Skills Required
Essential
Strong warehouse leadership or supervisory experience.
Solid working knowledge of warehouse operations, material handling, picking and despatch.
Experience using SAP or other Warehouse Management Systems (SAP implementation or post‑go‑live exposure advantageous).
Ability to analyse performance, manage data and prepare operational reports.
Strong communication, interpersonal and people leadership skills.
Proven ability to influence and drive change across teams.
Desirable
Experience implementing or optimising SAP warehouse processes.
Exposure to continuous improvement or lean‑based warehouse initiatives.
FLT Licence (desirable but not essential).
Supervisory qualifications (e.g., NEBSMS) beneficial but not required.
