Permanent Part-time Role | 26 Hours Per Week | Wyee Location Foster Faith & Build a Stronger Community at Bethshan Gardens Aged Care Home Join an Organisation That Values Everyone’s Emotional & Spiritual Growth Your Role: As a Chaplain, you will provide effective, person-centred, spiritual, and pastoral care to customers, their carers, staff, and volunteers. Your role will involve compassionate and attentive listening, assessing spiritual and pastoral needs, and delivering person-centred spiritual care initiatives. The wonderful opportunity will also see you conduct worship services, staff devotions, funerals, and other rites of passage, participate in case management reviews, and contribute to care plans. Additionally, you will support and encourage BaptistCare staff and volunteers, document pastoral contacts, report activities, attend team meetings, and manage a team of Pastoral Care Volunteers. About You: Essential Qualifications & Experience: Tertiary qualifications in chaplaincy /pastoral care OR tertiary theological qualifications, with a willingness to undertake chaplaincy / pastoral care specific training Ability to demonstrate a high level of Christian spiritual maturity with a pastoral heart Active involvement in and recommendation from a local Christian Church Chaplaincy or pastoral care experience Current ‘Working with Children Check’ Willingness to undergo a police check Essential Competencies: A personal commitment to growth in the Christian faith Ability to recognise the spiritual and pastoral needs of clients and to design, deliver and evaluate person centred spiritual care initiatives in accordance with professional codes and standards of conduct. Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients and to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Ability to facilitate safe and welcoming spaces which provide a sense of community and belonging Treat all clients with equity, respect, and dignity Provide spiritual and pastoral care in ways that respect and value diversity, e.g. age, race, faith, culture, disability, gender, spirituality, and sexuality Ability to work within BaptistCare’s Purpose and Values and willingness to promote its Christian identity Ability to work within BaptistCare’s Policies and Procedures Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to supervise, support and train pastoral care volunteers A demonstrated commitment to self-nurture and self-care demonstrated commitment to maintain professional boundaries, and professional spiritual development Desirable Experience: Previous experience in residential aged care or retirement living will be highly regarded Understanding of the spiritual and pastoral needs of those living with dementia, loss, grief and bereavement, long term illness, relationship disharmony, mental health, disability, loneliness, or receiving palliative care Visiting clients in homes and hospitals as appropriate If you would like to be considered for the role, click “Apply” and please provide the following : A cover letter addressing ALL the listed essential qualifications & experience and competencies Updated Resume Baptist Care empowers staff by offering flexible work hours, a supportive team, training opportunities and financial benefits, including salary packaging and stability working for an industry leading provider.
