We are seeking 2 Keyworkers to join Launch Pad, our specialist provision supporting young people who may be disengaged from education or have experienced challenging educational journeys.
The Keyworker role is central to learner success within Launch Pad and is similar in nature to a Teaching Assistant, with a strong focus on pastoral support, engagement and relationship‑building. You will work closely with teaching staff to support learners both in and out of the classroom, helping them to feel safe, supported and motivated to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Provide in‑class and pastoral support to learners within Launch Pad
Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
Support learners’ engagement, attendance and behaviour
Work with small groups or individuals to remove barriers to learning
Support maths and other learning activities where appropriate
Contribute to a safe, inclusive and trauma‑informed learning environment
Liaise with staff to support learners’ personal and educational progress
About You
Experience of working with young people, ideally within youth work, alternative provision, mentoring or pastoral support
A calm, patient and supportive approach
Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
Confidence working with learners who may be disengaged or anxious
Strong maths skills would be an advantage, particularly to support Functional Skills lessons, but are not essential.
