Who we are At Our Lady Catholic Primary School, everything we do is rooted in our mission: We learn to love and love to learn with Jesus. Our faith is not simply taught - it is lived. It shapes every relationship, every decision, and every act of care within our school community. We believe that every child is loved as a child of God, and that belief is the foundation of how we meet the needs of all our pupils. Our most recent Ofsted inspection reflected what we already know: that ours is a school where the culture of respect and kindness permeates everything, where everyone is included, and where the warm, nurturing relationships between staff and children are genuinely central to how this school works. Our Personal Development and Wellbeing programme was described as having a remarkable impact, with pupils leaving Year 6 as resilient, independent, and responsible young people. We are proud of that - and we are ready to go further. The opportunity This is a genuinely exciting role, and a rare one. Our Lady is at the beginning of a significant, carefully planned project to develop a suite of dedicated inclusion and regulation spaces across the school. Working alongside an external consultant, we are transforming five distinct areas of the school - from a KS2 library regulation zone and a KS1 outdoor learning base, to a low-arousal multi-use classroom, a KS2 physical regulation courtyard, and a fully refurbished sensory room - into a coherent, evidence-informed provision designed around the needs of our children. We are now looking for the person who will lead it. This is not a supporting role. We are looking for someone who will take genuine ownership of this provision, help shape it as it grows, and be part of the inclusion heartbeat across the school. You will be well supported - by an outstanding SENDCo, a Headteacher who is fully committed to this work, and a staff team that Ofsted described as building warm and nurturing relationships with every child in their care. But you will also be trusted to lead. The role You will lead the day-to-day running of the inclusion and regulation provision across the school - supporting children with SEND, SEMH needs, and any additional need that makes being in school feel difficult. You will work relationally, using your knowledge of co-regulation, therapeutic approaches, and evidence-based interventions to meet children where they are. You will be a calm, consistent presence for children who need one most. Beyond direct work with children, you will also take a lead on staff training - building the capacity of colleagues across the school to understand and respond to the needs of our most vulnerable pupils. You will be someone who can take an idea, develop it with confidence, and bring others with you. You will bring ● A genuine passion for SEND and SEMH - bringing dedication, empathy and balance to the role ● Knowledge and experience of interventions, therapeutic approaches, and regulation strategies that make a real difference ● The ambition to lead, not just support - you want responsibility and the chance to make a lasting impact ● Confidence to deliver training and build the understanding of others ● A relational, values-driven approach that fits a school where kindness and inclusion are not aspirations, but lived realities ● Experience working with children in a school or similar setting You may be someone who currently feels that your knowledge and passion are not being fully used. This is the role that changes that. Our commitment to safeguarding Our Lady Catholic Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All staff are expected to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check, including a check against the Children's Barred List, is required for this post. We welcome visits to the school prior to application. Please contact Jackie Young to arrange.
