Overview
Communications Officer, NFP PEOPLE at Guardian Jobs. This role supports the Head of Communications in a small team to raise awareness of the charity’s work and engage key groups through storytelling, social media, outreach, and campaign analysis. The role may involve brainstorming innovative social media content, reporting on campaign performance, and encouraging volunteering and fundraising.
Position: Communications Officer
Salary: £27,500 pro rata
Location: Hybrid or fully remote (London office available; occasional travel required)
Hours: 4 days a week (must include Mondays, flexible hours)
Contract: Permanent, 3 month probation period
Closing date: 17:00, Friday 26th September 2025
Key responsibilities
* Create fresh, engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter) and LinkedIn in line with the Communications strategy
* Keep on top of key happenings such as internal fundraising events and campaigns; brainstorm ways to involve the charity in relevant spaces
* Work closely with the fundraising and volunteer teams to capture real-life stories and turn them into newsworthy content
* Help deliver targeted campaigns that attract new volunteers and supporters
* Maintain our image and video library so we always have quality content available
* Access and produce data for reports and analytics
* Manage the Communications calendar and inbox; respond to media and external enquiries
About you
We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, creativity, and the ability to manage multiple projects. You will have a background in a Communications or Marketing role, a strong interest in mental health, the ability to write for specific audiences, and an understanding of brand values. Proficiency with Canva, Photoshop (or alternatives), and CMS systems (specifically Squarespace) is preferred.
