Overview
The Manager of Software Engineering is responsible for leading a team of software engineers in the development and maintenance of software applications. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the software engineering process, from design to implementation and testing. This position requires strong technical knowledge as well as excellent communication skills to effectively manage both internal teams and external stakeholders.,
Responsibilities
* Leads a team of software engineers in developing new products or features, maintaining existing co debases, and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
* Manages project timelines and ensure deadlines are met while adhering to quality standards.
* Collaborates with other departments such as product management, marketing, customer service, etc., to ensure successful product launches.
* Develops strategies for improving efficiency within the engineering team by leveraging automation tools or introducing new processes/methodologies.
* Monitors performance metrics related to engineering projects (e.g., bug count) and take corrective action when necessary.
* Mentors junior engineers on best practices for coding standards, debugging techniques, etc., while providing feedback on their work performance regularly.
* Stays up-to-date on industry trends related to software engineering technologies/tools/processes; identify opportunities for improvement where applicable.
