About the Role
An Outstanding Mixed school in Enfield is seeking an inspiring and dedicated English Teacher for a permanent, full-time position commencing in September. The successful English Teacher will cultivate a love for literature and language in students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver engaging English Teacher lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4, covering a range of literary genres and language skills.
* Prepare students effectively for GCSE English Language and Literature examinations, fostering a deep appreciation of texts.
* Cultivate a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and articulate communication.
* Assess and monitor student progress in English, providing thoughtful and constructive feedback as an English Teacher.
* Contribute to the ongoing development of the English curriculum and the creation of enriching learning experiences.
* Encourage student participation in literary discussions, creative writing, and extracurricular activities.
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in English Language and Literature.
* Demonstrated experience in teaching English at the secondary level (Key Stages 3 & 4).
* A strong and comprehensive knowledge of English literature, language, and effective teaching methodologies.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring a love of reading and writing as an English Teacher.
* Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the varied learning needs and literary interests of students.
* A commitment to collaborative work and a supportive ethos within the English department.
