Highly Specialist Physiotherapist – Peripheral Nerve Injury
The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust (RNOH) is a leading UK tertiary centre for the treatment of complex peripheral nerve injuries. This role is based primarily at Bolsover Street, with occasional work at the Stanmore site.

Role Overview
The Physiotherapist will conduct specialised PNI assessments and treatments, develop individualised care plans, and lead clinical practice improvements. The post involves outpatient caseloads, supporting multidisciplinary teams, and participation in training and teaching.
Key Responsibilities
* Clinical Excellence: Conduct specialised PNI assessments and treatments, re‑assess care plans, and maintain high standards of clinical practice.
* Patient Engagement: Encourage patients and carers to regain and maintain independence.
* Leadership & Management: Lead changes in clinical practices, initiate multidisciplinary meetings, and manage team appraisals.
* Service Development: Participate in policy development, monitor service standards, deliver training, and propose service delivery improvements.
* General Duties: Ensure equipment safety, handle distressed patients, and adhere to policies.
Person Specification
Knowledge, Training & Experience
* Diploma/degree in physiotherapy.
* Registered with the Healthcare Professions Council.
* Evidence of CPD portfolio including recent post‑graduate courses relevant to this post.
* Post‑graduate experience within a healthcare environment.
* Broad clinical experience in orthopaedics/outpatients, rehabilitation.
* Minimum experience at band 6 level, working in a specialist area.
* High level of clinical competence in the specialist area.
* Experience of supervising junior staff, students or technicians.
* Experience of teaching junior staff and undergraduates.
* Participation in appraisal processes.
* Good reasoned account of suitability to work in this specialist field.
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of professional practice and new research.
* Understanding of the legal responsibilities of the profession.
* Sound understanding of clinical governance.
* Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
* Member of a specialist interest group relevant to the field.
* MSc in a related health care field (preferred).
* Leadership course completed.
* Experience in NHS.
* Experience working with patients with complex needs.
* Experience as an appraiser.
* Involvement in a national clinical interest group.
* Experience working at band 7 or above.

Remuneration
£58,133 to £65,261 per annum, inclusive of HCAs, on a pro‑rata basis.
