National Grid is hiring two Trainee Development Assessors. This position can be located in Eakring, Warwick, Tipton, or Taunton. We have 2 opportunities: one full-time, permanent, and one on an 8-12 month fixed-term contract for maternity cover. Please note, this is not a trainee role; it involves reviewing our trainees during their apprenticeship schemes. The role reports to the Apprenticeship Specialist within the Apprenticeships team.
As you will work with employees aged 16-18, a DBS check at the Enhanced level will be required for the successful candidate.
What You'll Do
The ET Trainee Development Assessor is responsible for reviewing and supporting apprentices throughout their training. This includes planning and delivering progress reviews, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with stakeholders such as the Development Programmes and HR Teams to support learners. You will play a key role in fostering the development and welfare of young apprentices, ensuring their educational needs are met in line with company policies.
About You
* Proven organisational skills with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Self-motivated, resilient, with good risk assessment, recording, and time management skills.
* Understanding of adolescent and emotional/developmental needs of young people.
* Empathy, listening skills, and the ability to work flexibly as part of a team.
* Experience working with students or young people.
* Knowledge of the OFSTED Education Inspection Framework is desirable.
* Experience reviewing, mentoring, or coaching apprentices, preferably from a teaching or training background.
* Ability to design and deliver presentations and training.
* Experience in promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons, in line with policies and government guidelines; relevant experience is desirable.
