Cogent staffing our recruiting for a Traffic planner / Clerk on behalf of our client based in Welshpool. The role of Transport Planner will be on a permanent basis offering an immediate start working on an afternoon shift.

Working hours – 11:00am – 20:00pm (Or until everything is finished, this could be 19:00pm up to 21:00pm)
Responsibilities will include:
* Route Planning.
* Ensuring vehicles are running to capacity and reducing empty running.
* Actioning any defects.
* Emailing customers with collection times/delays.
* Booking deliveries.
* Providing the highest level of customer care.
* Building good working relationships internally and externally.
* Debriefing Drivers on return.
* Effective time management to ensure the job is completed within the set time frame provided.
Skills required:
* Previous experience as a Transport Planner or Traffic Clerk, alternatively experience in an operational role within logistics or haulage is essential.
* Excellent communication skills and telephone manner.
* An understanding of compliance within the transport industry.
* Experience in planning multiple delivery schedules.
* Knowledge of safety and legal compliance.
* Ability to build positive working relations with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
* IT literate (Including working knowledge of MS and Excel).
* The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines within a busy transport office.
* Good analytical skills.
* Self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
