Lead Practitioner Theatres (Podiatry and Orthopaedics) Closing date: 04 June 2026
Job summary Location: Mexborough Theatres (Rotation to other sites may be required). An excellent opportunity for a Band 6 Lead Practitioner covering podiatry and orthopaedics. 12 month secondment.
Main duties of the job
Qualifications: Operating Department Practitioner/Registered Nurse with at least 2 years' experience at band 5 with current registration and recent expert clinical practice; able to work dual role.
Demonstrate a positive attitude, lead a team, be receptive to change and ambitious to drive service forward. We will support development through a personalised plan and leadership responsibilities.
Full‑time 37.5 hours a week; part‑time considered.
Awareness and understanding of current professional issues and practice, evidenced by a current portfolio.
Evidence of training, mentorship or preceptorship of student ODPs and nurses.
Management experience desirable as role involves managing the department in the absence of the Band 7.
Ability to undertake advanced life support.
