Overview
Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring our sites are safe, compliant and well‑maintained, working closely with contractors, colleagues and external providers.
Responsibilities
* Manage Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) for hard services.
* Manage service contracts and tendering for new contracts.
* Maintain catering kitchen equipment.
* Act as first point of contact for external contractors; oversee work, ensure documentation (RAMS) is provided and approved.
* Oversee general maintenance with caretakers and external contractors.
* Monitor and utilise the Building Management Software System.
* Ensure all site set‑up requirements are in place for events, assemblies, and exam set‑ups.
* Work with SLT to ensure relevant Policies are accurate and reviewed.
* Complete and submit all group reports in a timely fashion.
* Manage site waste management.
* Lead individual projects such as office moves, space management and restructures.
* Ensure essential weekly/monthly tasks such as checking first aid boxes, fire extinguishers, emergency exits, weekly fire alarm testing and termly fire evacuations are completed.
* Maintain full responsibility for Health & Safety across the site, conduct weekly inspections and ensure compliance.
* Communicate Health & Safety updates to staff and ensure training to required levels.
* Lead and manage the college fire team; conduct termly fire evacuations and fire safety training.
* Complete and review fire risk assessments, liaise with contractors to meet and surpass requirements.
* Create, update and implement site risk assessments; lead the Health & Safety Committee and implement recommendations.
* Implement disability regulations throughout Health & Safety.
* Manage the first aid function across the college.
* Work with external safety company for inspections.
* Manage third‑party security, duty rotas and collaborate with IT on CCTV and badge access control.
* Line‑manage the Health & Safety & Facilities Coordinator and two caretakers.
* Support summer school operations and facilities management.
* Maintain comprehensive records of all site procedures for SLT and external inspectors.
* Ensure adherence to legislation concerning health, safety, fire, risk assessments and multi‑site operations.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience as a Facilities/Site Manager in a commercial or educational environment.
* Hands‑on site management experience.
* ICT literate, proficient with Excel, Microsoft Office and database use.
* Strong line‑management skills.
