About the Role:
Colmore Education are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in the Telford area. The school is seeking a motivated and inspiring History Teacher to join the Humanities/History department. The successful candidate will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging, thought-provoking lessons, helping students develop analytical historical thinking and a strong understanding of the past and its contemporary relevance.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver high quality, differentiated lessons in History across KS3 and KS4.

Monitor, assess and support student progress; set and maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning.
*
Contribute to the department’s curriculum development and enrichment activities (e.g., extra-curricular visits, history club).
*
Collaborate with colleagues across the Humanities faculty to drive student achievement and engagement.
*
Uphold and promote the school’s values, safeguarding policies and ensure a safe learning environment.
Person Specification:
*
Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
*
Proven experience teaching History in UK secondary schools (or strong trainee/ECT showing excellent potential).
*
Deep subject knowledge in History, confidence teaching KS3 & KS4, ideally GCSE History.
*
Excellent classroom management skills, strong communication skills and a commitment to student progress.
*
Enthusiastic about delivering inspiring lessons, able to motivate and challenge young people.
*
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
