We're looking for an experienced and strategic Finance Head of Property Services to join a leading organisation in the housing sector. This is a high-impact leadership role, overseeing the financial performance of a £155 million maintenance directorate and managing a team of seven finance professionals.
The Role
You will be a key member of the senior finance team within the Group Financial Reporting division, leading the financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning for the maintenance division.
You will act as a trusted business partner to operational leaders, translating financial data into actionable insights and supporting strategic decision making.
You will also play a vital role in integrating new acquisitions into the group’s financial framework, ensuring compliance, efficiency and alignment with best practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a team of Senior and Assistant Management Accountants to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting
* Produce and present monthly management accounts to senior directors
* Manage quarterly reforecasts and long-term financial planning for the maintenance function
* Partner with directors and budget holders to support operational and strategic decisions
* Support statutory reporting and coordinate with the wider Group Finance team
* Drive process improvement and system development within the finance function
* Contribute to the organisation’s overall financial strategy as part of the senior finance team
* Lead and develop your team to ensure performance, growth and succession planning
* Promote cross-functional support and knowledge sharing within finance
What We’re Looking For
* Fully qualified accountant (CCAB) with at least 5 years post-qualification experience
* Strong experience in management accounting, budgeting and business partnering
* Proven leadership skills managing finance teams across different levels
* Comfortable working with senior stakeholders across finance and operations
* Commercially astute with a strategic approach
* Excellent Excel and financial systems skills
* Strong communicator with the ability to present complex information clearly
* Organised, proactive and able to meet tight deadlines
Desirable
* Background in social housing or property maintenance
* Experience using Microsoft Dynamics F&O and Adaptive Insights
* Understanding of statutory reporting, corporation tax and VAT
Other Requirements
* Full clean driving licence and access to a car for travel to sites
* Willingness to travel to key sites at least twice per month
