Key Responsibilities

* Process purchase ledger invoices through accounting system and online portal.
* Distribute monthly credit card statements and track/chase expense claims being returned.
* Process weekly payment runs.
* Monitor purchase ledger mailbox and respond to internal employee and external supplier queries.
* Process expense claims including cash and credit card expenses on a weekly basis.
* Process petty cash.
* Process ad hoc bank transactions.
* Weekly bank postings and match off payments.
* Import bank transactions from online banking platform to Open Accounts system.
* Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
* Assist with ad hoc duties and queries.
* Produce regular and ad hoc reports as required.
* Assist with maintenance of process documentation to enable others to cover primary duties.
* Contribute to process improvements proactively.
* Provide efficient support to the finance team and assist with ad hoc projects as requested by senior team members.


Personal Qualities & Qualifications

* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a purchase ledger role.
* GCSEs in Maths and English.
* Good IT skills including Excel.
* Ability to communicate effectively in all forms.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to focus on specific targets and demonstrate achievement.
* Capable of producing high‑quality work in a flexible, fast‑paced environment.
* Takes personal responsibility and initiative.
* Organises own time and prioritises workload within tight timescales while maintaining high attention to detail.
* Develops positive relationships with internal and external customers.
* Remains positive under pressure.
* Builds rapport with colleagues.
* Awareness of personal development needs and proactively raises issues with manager.
* Willing to learn and accept feedback.
