If you’re a Chef de Partie who loves fresh, local produce and wants a role that delivers both quality and work–life balance, this is a standout opportunity. You’ll be joining a busy, well‑loved Oyster Bar where chefs work with oysters harvested metres from the door, premium Scottish seafood and ingredients that speak for themselves.
And here’s the part you will love… daytime shifts only, no evening service and the restaurant is closed every Tuesday and Wednesday — giving you a rhythm and lifestyle rarely found in hospitality.
What You’ll Be Doing
* You’ll take charge of your section — grill, sauce, fish or pastry — bringing energy, precision and pride to every service.
* Deliver consistently high‑quality dishes while keeping your section organised, clean and food‑safe
* Support and motivate Demi and Commis Chefs, helping build a positive, ambitious kitchen culture
* Work with senior chefs on new dishes, menu ideas and continuous improvement
* Keep service flowing by coordinating confidently with other sections
* Manage portion control, waste reduction, stock rotation and ordering
* Champion allergen management, health & safety and company standards
What We’re Looking For
You’ll thrive here if you bring skill, drive and a passion for great produce.
* Experience as a Chef de Partie (or a strong Demi or Commis ready to step up)
* Passion for cooking, creativity and a detail‑driven mindset
* Strong understanding of food safety, allergens and modern techniques
* Calm, focused service under pressure with great teamwork and communication
* Flexibility around day shift patterns and high personal hygiene standards
* A culinary qualification is a bonus — and while seafood experience helps, what really matters is your enthusiasm to learn, grow and develop your craft
Why Chefs Love Working Here
Chefs join this kitchen for the balance it offers — day shifts only, no evening service, and time off every Tuesday and Wednesday. You’ll be cooking with exceptional Scottish seafood harvested locally and sustainably, in a busy, well‑known restaurant with a strong reputation and steady footfall. It’s a supportive team where you can grow your skills, work with premium ingredients and enjoy a healthier rhythm than most hospitality roles allow.
Applications from those seeking part time hours will also be considered.
