To continue providing great products to our customers while maintaining efficiency, we are seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer.
Role Overview
You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing site. This hands-on role requires strong technical skills, troubleshooting ability, and problem-solving skills to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. You will report to the Site Engineering Manager and your responsibilities will include:
1. Conducting routine inspections and preventive maintenance on production equipment, identifying and resolving potential issues before they cause disruptions.
2. Responding promptly to machinery breakdowns, diagnosing problems, and performing repairs or coordinating with external specialists when necessary.
3. Carrying out machine adjustments and changeovers to support production line efficiency and minimize downtime.
4. Monitoring and calibrating equipment to ensure accuracy, quality, and safety standards are met.
5. Collaborating with production teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and providing technical expertise to enhance productivity.
6. Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities, including schedules, repairs, and spare parts inventory.
7. Adhering to health and safety guidelines and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
8. Staying updated with industry advancements and new technologies relevant to the role.
About You
We are looking for candidates who:
1. Possess qualifications to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent, ONC mechanical/electrical engineering, BTEC level 3 in mechanical & electrical/electronic engineering).
2. Have strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems used in the FMCG industry.
3. Are proficient in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery, including conveyors, motors, pumps, and packaging equipment.
4. Have a proactive approach to maintenance and a commitment to equipment reliability.
5. Possess a good understanding of HACCP principles; IEE qualification up to 17th edition wiring regulations would be advantageous.
6. Have excellent communication skills.
7. Are assertive with the ability to make decisions on the spot.
8. Maintain a can-do attitude and a strong work ethic.
