We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and recognise that healthy, balanced meals are a vital part of a child's early development. Our kitchen team plays an important role in supporting children's well-being every day.
Your Role as a Nursery Kitchen Assistant
As a Nursery Kitchen Assistant, you will support the Nursery Chef in the preparation and service of fresh, healthy, and age-appropriate meals and snacks. You will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with food safety and health & safety regulations.
What You'll Be Doing
Assisting with the preparation of healthy meals and snacks for children
Supporting the Nursery Chef with food preparation and meal service
Helping to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment
Washing up, cleaning equipment, and ensuring all kitchen areas are kept tidy
Assisting with stock rotation and basic food storage checks
Supporting the catering of children with allergies or specific dietary requirements, following guidance
Working closely with nursery staff to support mealtimes and routines
Following all food hygiene, health & safety, and safeguarding procedures
About You
An interest in food preparation and children's nutrition
Some experience working in a kitchen or food preparation environment (desirable but not essential)
Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety, or willingness to undertake training
A reliable, organised, and hardworking approach
Ability to work well as part of a team
A positive, flexible, and can-do attitude
