Within Grid Solutions, the Grid Systems Integration (GSI) Business Line is accountable for Product Development, Business Development, Sales, Project Execution and Services of high voltage Alternative, FACTS & Direct Current complete solutions, including Engineering, Procurement and associated Construction (EPC). Typical customers of GSI include worldwide Transmission, Distribution, Power Generation Utilities and Developers, as well as a wide range of Industrial customers. Typical project values range from a few hundred thousand dollars up to the billion‑dollar range.
GSI Profit and Loss accountability is structured around geographical Regions; the North & South Europe (NSE) region, which covers Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Israel and Romania, is managed by a Commercial & Tendering Team of around 40 people. Average order intake in NSE is in the range of 1 billion $ to 2 billion $.
Role Summary / Purpose
* The GSI Bid Manager in the NSE region oversees GSI Bid Management activities as part of the ITO process, ensuring the delivery of winning, high‑quality, profitable, compliant and on‑time proposals for the complete GSI portfolio (from full EPC turnkey to engineered packages).
* Ensures that GSI offers in the region are executable and competitive to meet regional goals, collaborating with the Account Management and Proposal Management teams.
* Performance is measured on Order Intake volume, Cost Margin, Down‑Payment collection and Cash.
Essential Responsibilities
* Lead all functions involved in the elaboration of GSI offers from the Go/No‑Go process to final submission, ensuring a clear understanding of customer technical needs and defining the best delivery model to maximise profit and cash. Explore alternative technical solutions, sourcing, and innovative content to differentiate proposals while ensuring executability.
* Support the Account Management team in defining and confirming scope and deal strategy during the Opportunity Identification stage.
* Accountable for sound completion of T&C analysis, cash optimisation, price schedule completion, integration of EHS and Security Plans, and assessment of financial securities.
* Accountable for submission of BAFO, negotiating and signing contracts with customers in line with internal validation processes and Delegation of Authority.
* Co‑ordinate with the Proposal Manager and Project Manager to identify, qualify and select consortium partners.
* Propose post‑mortem analyses for key deals to drive continuous improvement of solutions and customer approach.
* Organise return of experience from OTR teams to ITO teams and ensure lessons learned are considered by GSI ITO teams.
* Provide feedback on customer and market needs to improve proposals: technical gaps, commercial needs, and share winning arguments.
* Comply with Quality Procedures, work instructions and processes; report or resolve any non‑conformances in a timely manner.
* Demonstrate EHS leadership and enforce compliance with the GE Vernova Code of Ethics and EHS on all projects assigned.
* Ensure full compliance with the Grid Solutions Tendering process and associated gate reviews.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
* Established experience in a large international engineering projects environment, with proven success in managing complex tenders or projects of medium to large scale.
* Proven track record of selling projects to UK Transmission Operators (e.g., National Grid, SSE).
* Familiarity with NEC contracts.
* Willingness to travel up to 40 %.

* Excellent knowledge of Grid Solutions business, products and EPC turnkey.
* Operational rigor and exceptional business acumen.
* Excellent communication skills and motivation to work in international, matrix organisations.
* English mandatory; knowledge of a second language is a plus.
