IIT Home Treatment Team Occupational Therapist
An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a permanent full-time band 6 Occupational Therapist within the Integrated Independence Team. We are looking for an innovative, enthusiastic and experienced Occupational Therapist to be part of the Home Treatment and Reablement Team within the Integrated Independence Team. This will be offered as permanent and full-time for an existing band 6 therapist or experienced band 5 therapist.

Responsibilities
* Provide senior Occupational Therapy assessment, treatment and rehabilitation to service users in their own homes.
* Work as part of a strong multidisciplinary team within an interdisciplinary working model to facilitate hospital discharge and maximise independence over a short-term 6-week intervention.
* Develop clinical, teaching and management skills with support from team leads and experienced staff across the team.
* Support and supervise junior staff and students; contribute to service development and projects.
Qualifications
* Education/Qualifications
Essential: Degree / diploma in OT; HCPC registration
* Desirable: Evidence of postgraduate study; Member of BAOT; Member of relevant clinical interest group
Skills / Abilities
* Ability to demonstrate Trust values and work within a multidisciplinary team
* Ability to assess complex clients with physical disabilities and provide home-based rehabilitation
* Ability to manage a clinical caseload, prioritise and problem solve; clear written and verbal reporting
* Sound IT skills; ability to reflect and adapt practice; awareness of own competency
Experience
* Postgraduate experience in the general physical field of OT; experience in community settings
* Experience contributing to service development projects; experience in acute hospital settings is desirable
Knowledge / Understanding
* OT assessment and treatment approaches in physical rehabilitation; discharge planning to keep someone at home
* Applications of models of practice; confidentiality; NHS issues; risk management and clinical governance; outcome measures
Other
* Professional manner; ability to travel around the borough; flexible approach to service needs; commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
