PE Global is currently recruiting for a Medical Communications Writer with experience in the pharma industry for a contract role with a leading multinational Pharma client – remote within the UK.
The role involves managing and completing assigned Medical Communications deliverables at high quality standards and within agreed timelines. Projects include manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide sets, satellite symposia content, congress or advisory board reports, publication planning, and medical education materials for internal medical and/or clinical teams.
Job Responsibilities
1. Demonstrate expertise in assigned therapeutic areas and products.
2. Research and write original content for publications, including manuscripts, review articles, abstracts, and posters, based on provided materials and directions.
3. Prepare meeting materials such as agendas, slide content, and speaker briefings for satellite symposia, as well as reports from advisory boards and meetings.
4. Create scientifically accurate, evidence-based content that is referenced appropriately and meets quality standards for review and peer review.
5. Perform quality control and proofreading of documents to ensure they meet customer expectations.
6. Communicate medical and scientific concepts clearly and concisely to target audiences.
7. Follow internal processes and industry best practices, including GPP3 guidelines.
8. Adapt to different therapeutic teams and manage multiple projects across brands.
9. Interpret and apply clinical data in communication deliverables.
10. Collaborate with the team and line manager to develop project timelines.
11. Contribute to troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts.
12. Incorporate author and customer comments into deliverables.
13. Lead or participate in teleconferences with authors and clients.
14. Ensure proper citation and referencing using Reference Manager systems.
15. Participate in publication planning and research activities.
16. Work as part of a team and mentor less experienced colleagues.
17. Support performance management and maintain project records.
18. Ensure compliance with audit, SOP, WP, and training standards.
Requirements
1. Minimum science degree or equivalent; MSc, PhD, PharmD, or MD preferred.
2. At least 5 years of experience in medical communications.
3. Medical writing experience.
4. Understanding of publication processes in the industry.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
