Coffey Geotechnics Ltd, a Tetra Tech company, has opportunities for graduate geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists to join our team in Reading. The core of our business is ground interpretation, geotechnical assessment and design for infrastructure projects (road and rail), buildings and land developments. We design foundations, soil and rock slopes, retaining structures, ground improvement, marine and near-shore structures, deep basements and temporary works. We are at the forefront of delivering design and feasibility solutions for geotechnical, engineering geology, hydrogeology, mining and geo-environmental projects.
In a graduate role you will work on exciting, ground-breaking projects from day one, with support to grow in your chosen discipline as well as training to develop the core skills needed to succeed in a professional organisation. Responsibilities
You will be exposed to a range of engineering problems and have opportunities to gain practical responsibility from the outset. You will:
 * Plan and undertake office and site-based work
 * Complete investigations and assessments
 * Interpret reports and meet clients
 * Undertake detailed design and construction supervision on a broad range of projects
 * Work across teams of ground engineering specialists
We offer an ICE-accredited graduate training agreement with mentoring and support towards chartership through the ICE, IOM3 and the Geological Society of London.
Qualifications and skills
Our ideal candidate will have a 2(i) or 1st MEng, MGeol, MSci, or BSc + MSc in civil engineering, geotechnics or engineering geology and be able to demonstrate:
 * A strong interest in geotechnical engineering / engineering geology with related experience
 * Written and verbal communication skills
 * Numerical and analytical engineering skills and keen observational skills
 * Flexibility to work on site and overseas
 * Eligible to work in the UK and hold a full valid UK driving licence
