Learning Support Assistant (Hove)– Fixed Term Contract (FTC) Contract: Fixed Term – September 2025 to July 2026 Working Hours: 08:30 – 15:30 (7 hours per day, including a 30-minute unpaid break) Paid Hours: 6.5 hours per day (32.5 hours per week) Start Date: September 2025 DBS Requirement: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain before start date) About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team in a part-time capacity. This role involves providing support to students with a range of individual needs, including Special Educational Needs (SEN), disabilities, and other learning barriers. The ideal candidate will be committed to inclusive education and passionate about helping all students achieve their potential. Prior experience in a similar role is essential. Key Responsibilities Deliver one-to-one and small group support to students with additional needs Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of differentiated lessons and learning materials Provide personal care support where required Promote a positive and inclusive school environment by working collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals Help students access the curriculum and participate fully in school activities Person Specification Essential: Previous experience in a Learning Support or SEN role or equivalent Availability: Must be available to work every day during term time! DBS: Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting young learners Strong interpersonal and communication skills
