Who we are looking for
A Development Support Engineer, who will play a key role in the successful operation of our Core Systems platforms. The Core Systems department is responsible for the critical platforms supporting bet placement, settlement, cashout, payments, responsible gambling and more. You will work alongside other teams within software development, ensuring optimal performance and availability of global-scale business critical production systems. Drawing on collective experience, industry best practise and bespoke services and tooling, the Development Support Engineering team collaboratively administer and operate Core Systems’ production platforms. The team consists of delivery focused, diligent, resilient, pragmatic, and distributed systems experts. This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.
Preferred Skills And Experience
* Demonstrable experience with Linux and Unix, including Bash, AWK, SED and grep.
* Knowledge and experience of GNU utilities.
* Ability to make and act on decisions under pressure.
* Experience with Python.
* Strong understanding of networking, including host and preferably media layers.
* Self-starter with the ability to learn quickly.
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to communicate concisely, both verbally and written.

* Forecasting production demand and capacity planning.
* Responding to and managing emergencies and incidents.
* Monitoring and tuning performance.
