Our client is a well-established facilities management provider with a strong reputation in the education sector. They are currently expanding their team supporting a major university contract and seek an Accommodation Maintenance Technician to join their facilities team.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Accommodation Maintenance Technician will deliver high-quality maintenance and repair services across a range of student accommodation buildings. Responsibilities include planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs covering minor joinery, tiling, drainage, plastering, flooring, roofing, and other building fabric tasks.
You will work closely with the facilities management team and helpdesk to complete maintenance tasks efficiently and safely, ensuring buildings remain in excellent condition for students and staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on internal and external fabric of various accommodation buildings.
Deliver high standards of workmanship in joinery, tiling, drainage, minor roofing, plastering, flooring, and general building repairs.
Use initiative to solve maintenance issues, source parts, and seek technical support when needed.
Complete all work in compliance with current regulations, contract specifications, and health and safety standards.
Maintain accurate records using electronic devices and communicate effectively with the helpdesk and clients.
Conduct risk assessments at the point of work and follow best practices for safety.
Provide excellent customer service, representing the company professionally at all times.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
Essential:
NVQ or equivalent qualification in building maintenance or related discipline.
Experience in delivering maintenance within a facilities management or construction environment.
Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to accurately complete administrative tasks related to maintenance work.
Desirable:
CSCS card.
Experience using PDAs or similar electronic job management systems.
Asbestos awareness training (UKATA).
SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary: £26,000 - £29,000
25 days annual leave
