Support Team Supervisor
Band 3 (standard working rota). All evening, night and weekend shifts are paid at an enhanced rate.
Hours: Full Time – Various Hours/Shifts.
Shift Pattern
• 07:00 – 15:00
• 09:00 – 22:00
• 15:00 – 23:00
• 23:00 – 07:00 (Two out of four weekends off)

About the Role
We are looking for an energetic and inspiring leader to manage our support (Portering) team across the Trust. The role requires working across all hours, driving team performance to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and ensuring compliance with health and safety, infection control and waste management legislation.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary duties will include the day‑to‑day management and supervision of a team of support staff, monitoring response times and completion of jobs within the SLA time frames. You will also:
* Organise and forward plan rosters, ensuring consistent staff levels across all shifts.
* Allocate staff to duties by forward and daily planning, maintaining accurate worked hour records.
* Supervise support staff on a rota basis, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
* Support the Security Car‑park function as required.
* Manage the Waste function, ensuring law‑compliant waste removal and liaison with Estates.
* Organise and chair team meetings with support staff regularly.
* Respond to complaints in the first instance, investigate, and recommend practice changes.
* Respond to Major Incidents and Code Victor incidents, following Duty Manager instructions.
* Ensure new staff are correctly inducted, trained, and receive annual refresher training.
* Enforce procedures and work instructions for all staff, ensuring SLA compliance and legislative adherence.
Other Duties
* Manage stress‑related situations with patients, visitors and staff, using diplomacy and negotiation.
* Undertake any required training and personal development to meet post demands and legal changes.
* Communicate effectively at all organisational levels and with the general public.
* Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene.
* Plan and organise workload, prioritising tasks on short notice.
* Carry out any other duties proportionate with the post or as directed by the line manager.
