Leeds Beckett International Study Centre is seeking a Computer Science and Cyber Security tutor to join its Engineering and Computing team.
Job Responsibilities
1. Contribute to the design, development, and production of teaching and learning materials, and deliver across a range of Computer Science modules at Year One Undergraduate (RQF Level 4).
2. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective delivery of teaching programmes aligned with our strategy and student experience goals.
3. Contribute to student support and the development of innovative teaching practices.
4. Prepare and deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials, with variable hours up to 25 hours per week.
5. Design and mark assessments, providing timely feedback and maintaining student records.
6. Develop and update course materials, including content for the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
7. Assist in induction, orientation, and registration processes.
8. Provide ongoing welfare and progression support for students, including acting as a Personal Tutor.
9. Implement quality assurance procedures and participate in course reviews.
10. Maintain accurate records of attendance and performance, and participate in governance and quality meetings.
11. Engage in staff training and development activities.
Candidate Requirements
* A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or relevant industry experience. Current Master’s students with appropriate experience may be considered.
* Relevant teaching qualification or significant experience working with students.
* Experience in writing comprehensive Level 4 modules and teaching computer science/engineering modules in the UK higher education sector, including lab-based teaching, or relevant industry experience.
