Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management and accounting principles, with proficiency in various accounting software. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The Accountant will also play a key role in mentoring junior staff and contributing to the overall financial health of the organisation.
Duties
* Prepare and maintain financial statements, reports, and records in accordance with accounting standards
* Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections
* Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
* Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and PeopleSoft for efficient financial management
* Oversee budgeting processes and monitor expenditures against budgetary constraints
* Provide mentorship to junior staff members, fostering their professional development in financial services
* Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare necessary documentation for audits
* Collaborate with other departments to provide insights on financial performance and operational efficiency
Requirements
* Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial role
* Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices
* Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and PeopleSoft
* Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
* Experience in mentoring or training junior staff is highly desirable
* A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
