JLI is looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join our fast-growing company and oversee a modern facility. As our Warehouse Supervisor, you will be second in command to the warehouse manager, helping them with the overall smooth running of the warehouse. You should be able to ensure productivity targets are achieved and that all warehouse processes are running smoothly and promptly.

Job description
JLI relies on the efficiency of its fulfilment centres. We rely on exceptionally talented, bright and committed people to deliver on our promise to customers. Currently, we're seeking a warehouse supervisor to help oversee operations at our brand-new warehouse in Newport. Backed by modern, state-of-the-art warehouse technology, this skilled multitasker must manage the receiving, handling, storing, picking, and packing activities of the warehouse, ensuring that quality standards are met or exceeded by their team. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, able to manage multiple facets of warehouse operations simultaneously and be a great team motivator.
Objectives of this role
* Ensure that the warehouse operates at peak efficiency — with customer satisfaction the primary goal — by supervising, organising, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals
* Train and manage the warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals.
* Oversee daily operations while controlling and managing inventory and logistics.
* Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity and quality.
* Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
Responsibilities
* Supervise daily warehouse activities, including stock checks, distribution of orders, and ensuring efficiencies in goods.
* Schedule and oversee the warehouse team and manage the flow and quality of work to maximise efficiency and minimise overtime.
* Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance when necessary.
* Meet regularly with warehouse leads to analyse productivity and develop actionable plans for loss prevention.
* Oversee and manage logistics for transporting products to customers by communicating with these service providers.
Required skills and qualifications
* Experience in a warehouse-based role in a team leader or supervisor role.
* Experience and Knowledge of working within a fast-paced warehouse environment with a dynamic workload and fast turnarounds.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities.
* Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff.
* Ability to deliver effective feedback, both written and verbal.
* Competent IT Skills.
Preferred skills and qualifications
* Health & Safety experience and qualifications.
* Manual Handling Training, First Aid Training, PAT Test Certification.
* Competent using Microsoft Excel.
Salary: £32,000 - £36,000
Bonus: Up to 12.5%
Working hours:
40 hours per week, Monday – Friday
The warehouse operational hours will be 06:00 - 17:00 (these are our opening hours, not necessarily working hours).
Occasional Saturday shifts will be required.
