IT Director, Travel Insurance, Central London, £120-140k excellent package, hybrid working Our client is seeking a new IT Director for their Travel Insurance and Assistance capability, working in their London office, and also remotely (Hybrid). The new hire will be tasked with leading the delivery of technology into Insurance and Assistance; becoming a trusted partner, supporting and contributing to the definition and implementation of the technology, digital, and business strategy. As IT Director, you will agree and manage the technology budget for the division, manage a team of technical staff and partners in a matrix fashion, and ensure that there is a cost effective delivery of service, acting as a point of escalation when necessary. Key responsibilities of the IT Director Supports and contributes to the definition and implementation of the business strategy -Define the strategic approach, technology elements and budgetary process to meet the needs of Insurance & Assistance. -Develop strategies and roadmaps for business systems to deliver sustainable long term benefits including reuse and removal of complexity and duplication. -Approve all expenditure against budget and review/approve monthly results as IT Director Supports the definition of change and then delivers it -To put in place a technology change function to continue to build on Strategic Platform as future Insurance & Assistance business goals evolve. -Deliver new business systems within the IT Strategy and systems roadmap within Insurance & Assistance both internally and for clients. -To work with the wider Development teams for new functionality and systems in addition to the core Insurance & Assistance platforms. Manages the team of technical staff, in a matrix fashion -As IT Director, lead, motivate and manage the Insurance & Assistance Technology team. -Manage partner relationships with internal & external suppliers to achieve longer, deeper business relationships that will be sustainable for the longer term. -Manage the demand management process into and out of Insurance & Assistance Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience: -The role requires an experienced IT Director with a strong technical and/or, product management background, who is capable of building strong relationships with Product Owners, Project Managers and Business Stakeholders -Expert in the IT and business environments relating to Insurance/Assistance, such as key clients, suppliers and partners, in particular key industry technical platforms, areas of value and constraint, and localised organisational awareness from a technical perspective. -Capable of delivering against challenging commercial targets and driving through performance improvements across our technology delivery teams. -Highly collaborative and strong attention to detail, with good oral and written communication skills, and the ability to create engaging material to support stakeholder engagement. -Ability to inspire and relate to technical staff of all levels, managing global teams of over 20 staff directly or through outsource operations -Determination and motivation needed to drive forward step change improvements in technology delivery performance. -Commercial acumen demonstrated by negotiating partner contracts, and sustainable SLA metrics for long term partnerships. -Is mobile, confident, friendly, calm, assertive and able to balance logical analysis with the emotional appeal that wins commitment or changes perceptions. -Proficient in the effective and efficient deployment of resources, including reassessment and reallocation in a dynamic multi-project environment, to achieve optimum results.
