About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced ServiceNow ITSM Developer to take ownership of a critical enterprise platform. You'll be responsible for ensuring the stability, scalability, and ongoing optimisation of ServiceNow, with a strong focus on out-of-the-box (OOTB) configuration over customisation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical delivery, governance, and stakeholder collaboration while driving best practice across the platform.
Key Responsibilities
* Platform Ownership
o Maintain the health, performance, and scalability of the ServiceNow platform
o Manage upgrades, testing cycles, and remediation of issues
o Oversee integrations, MID servers, and platform lifecycle activities
* Development & Configuration
o Deliver solutions using a configuration-first approach (UI Policies, Business Rules, Flow Designer, etc.)
o Develop custom solutions only where justified by clear business need
o Build and maintain integrations (REST, SOAP, webhooks, identity platforms, etc.)
* Governance & Best Practice
o Enforce platform standards including naming conventions, update set management, and security controls
o Support data model integrity and alignment with best practice frameworks (e.g., ITIL, CSDM)
o Contribute to architectural decisions and platform direction
* Quality & Operations
o Own CI/CD pipelines, automated testing (ATF), and deployment controls
o Ensure regression testing and platform reliabilityMonitor performance, manage technical debt, and maintain operational excellence
* Collaboration
o Work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to shape backlog and requirements
o Provide technical guidance, peer reviews, and knowledge sharing across the team
About You
* Proven experience in ServiceNow development and/or administration (approx. 2-4 years)
* Strong knowledge of ITSM processes (Incident, Change, Problem, Request, etc.)
* Hands‑on experience with configuration‑first development approaches
* Exposure to integrations, testing frameworks, and CI/CD practices
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Desirable
* ITIL v4 Foundation
* ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CAD, or specialist certifications)
