Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organized, and functional kitchen environment. This role is essential for ensuring smooth kitchen operations and providing excellent service in a fast-paced hospitality setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, strong attention to cleanliness, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Duties
* Wash, scrub, and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards
* Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and basic cooking under supervision
* Support catering and banquet setups by organizing supplies and ensuring timely delivery of items
* Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas including floors, work surfaces, and storage spaces
* Help with bussing tables and clearing dining areas during service times
* Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
* Follow food handling safety procedures and adhere to health regulations at all times
Requirements
* Previous experience in food service, catering, or hospitality environments is preferred but not mandatory
* Knowledge of kitchen cleaning protocols and food handling safety standards
* Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in a fast-paced environment
* Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting culinary staff
* Experience with food preparation, restaurant or hotel experience, or culinary background is a plus
* Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the kitchen environment
