Whether youre seeking weekday shifts or full-time flexibility, we have roles to suit your lifestyle.</p><h3>What Youll Be Doing</h3><p>Youll be part of a multi-skilled scrub team delivering safe, high-quality care across a range of surgical specialties, including:</p><ul><li>Orthopaedics & Trauma</li><li>Head & Neck</li><li>Obstetrics & Gynaecology</li><li>General Surgery</li><li>Urology</li><li>Vascular</li></ul><h3>You will be:</h3><ul><li>responsible for preparing the operating theatre, ensuring all surgical instruments, equipment, and materials are sterile, complete, and ready for use</li><li>supporting the surgical team by setting up instrument trays, checking equipment functionality, and maintaining a sterile environment throughout the procedure</li><li>responsible for directly assisting surgeons during operations by anticipating needs, passing instruments, handling specimens, and ensuring all items are accounted for</li><li>monitoring the sterile field and responding quickly to any issues, such as equipment problems, breaks in sterility, or changes in the surgical workflow</li><li>ensuring accurate surgical counts before, during, and after the procedure to maintain patient safety</li><li>supporting post-operative duties, including safe disposal of equipment, instrument decontamination, and documentation</li></ul><h3>What Youll Need</h3><h3>Essential:</h3><ul><li>HCPC or NMC Registration (RGN/ODP)</li><li>Minimum of 6 months UK based Operating Theatre experience</li><li>Right to work in the UK (No visa sponsorship is available for this role)</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</li></ul><h3>Desirable:</h3><ul><li>Immediate Life Support (ILS) / Paediatric ILS</li><li>Mentoring or teaching qualification</li></ul><h3>Why Join Medacs Healthcare?</h3><p>Were more than a locum recruitment agency - we work in partnership with you to ensure you find your perfect locum role.
