This is a full-time role. We are committed to supporting work–life balance, and requests for flexible working, including job share, will be considered in line with the needs of the service. Given the requirement for continuity of support to service users, any flexible working arrangements would need to ensure consistency in case management.

About The Post
To apply for this post you must have a Social Work Degree and be registered with Social Work England.
We're a council that prioritises Children's Services, and we want every child in the borough to achieve their full potential, to be safe and happy. We're looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed professional social worker to join our Children and Young People Team, based in Cudworth. In Barnsley we believe in working collaboratively with our families and are excited about becoming a signs of safety local authority. You will be part of a team delivering a service where children feel safe, are listened to, and receive a timely, creative and individual response. You will be focused on outcomes for children and young people; ensuring that intervention in children's lives are meaningful and proportionate.
A confident and experienced qualified social work professional, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will have experience of working with children subject to Child In Need, Child Protection and in care proceedings, working in partnership with families and agencies to drive plans and promote outcomes.
We will provide you with a comprehensive induction programme, dedicated supervision and a commitment to your learning and development, with a robust Continuous Professional Development programme through our Practice Development Hub.
