Primary SEND Teaching Assistants 🌟
Are you a caring, resilient, and adaptable Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
Stafflex Education is recruiting dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils across a range of primary schools throughout Huddersfield and Kirklees. We have both short-term and long-term opportunities available from September, offering flexibility alongside rewarding, meaningful work supporting children to reach their full potential.
🧩 About the Role:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEND needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and communication difficulties
Support pupils in accessing learning activities and engaging positively within the classroom environment
Assist with emotional regulation, social development, and independence skills
Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement tailored support strategies and learning plans
Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
Support behaviour management and promote positive outcomes for pupils
✅ What We're Looking For:
Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND in education, care, youth work, or similar settings
Relevant qualifications such as CACHE, Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Team Teach, Makaton, or equivalent are desirable
A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Willingness to support with personal care where required
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Stafflex Education
