Occupational Therapist - Secure Estate, PARC Prison, BRIDGEND COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL
Seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to work within a secure prison environment at HMP Parc, a Category B men's prison with a capacity of around 2000 inmates. This role involves assessing, planning, and delivering social care needs for complex patients with a range of physical and mental health conditions.
Responsibilities
* Assess, plan and deliver occupational therapy interventions for individuals within the Prison’s Social Care team.
* Collaborate with social workers and care staff in the care‑planning process for clients in your caseload.
* Maintain excellent record‑keeping and provide accurate documentation of interventions.
* Communicate effectively with patients, staff and external agencies.
* Participate in regular supervision and appraisal sessions and contribute to ongoing training and development.
* Adhere to all Wales Safeguarding procedures and the council’s equality duties.
* Support the delivery of care in Welsh, welcoming visitors through the medium of Welsh.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Relevant Occupational Therapy qualification and experience working with adult populations.
* Excellent record‑keeping and communication skills.
* A good understanding of safeguarding and an ability to apply the council’s safeguarding procedures.
* Ability to greet customers in Welsh – a requirement for the post.
* Successful completion of an Enhanced with Adults Barred list DBS check and a vetting check by South Wales Police.
* Commitment to the council’s Hybrid Working Policy and willingness to split working time between home and office.
