Joint Formulary and Medicines Pathways Pharmacist

Are you interested in influencing clinically and cost-effective care across South East London (SEL)? Do you have a keen eye for detail, the ability to think critically and the motivation to develop your knowledge of medicines optimisation policies? If so, apply for the role of Joint Formulary and Medicines Pathways Pharmacist. This role requires you to combine well-developed clinical pharmacy knowledge with advanced critical appraisal skills. You will assist in delivery of a formulary service across SEL ICs, including GSTT, Kings College Hospital and Lewisham and Greenwich Trust. You will gain significant experience in preparing evaluations, assisting in the development of local medicines treatment pathways and presenting to senior decision makers. You will be a key member of both the SEL Joint Formulary Committee and the SEL Integrated Medicines Optimisation Committee. The role also includes a level of clinical commitment, supporting the Medicines Information Department for work relevant to formulary and interface matters.

* Experience of working in an NHS Trust in a broad range of clinical specialities.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across boundaries.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* The ability to advise, negotiate and influence.
* Commitment to the highest quality of patient care.
* Support implementation and development of formulary services within the Trust, KCH, LGT and within the wider health economy of the South East London Integrated Care System (ICS).
* Prepare and distribute the agenda for Joint Formulary Committee (JFC) meetings, including coordinating agenda items with attendees from the 3 acute Trusts as appropriate.
* Perform new medicine evaluations, covering efficacy, safety and financial implications.
* Assist with the maintenance and development of the South East London Joint Medicines Formulary website.
* Answer formulary related enquiries originating from GSTT and those referred to the formulary team from KCH and LGT.
* Assist with the review and clinical evaluation of unlicensed medicines requests and individual funding requests.
* Assist with the implementation of new medicines within the Trust and SE London IC, e.g. contributing to updating medicines treatment pathways.
