Join Anglian Water as our Logistics Night Operations Manager and take control of our vital overnight logistics operation. In this dynamic role, you’ll be at the heart of emergency support—ensuring rapid delivery of critical parts to restore water supplies and maintain essential services across the region. From coordinating HGV drivers and warehouse activity to handling real‑time incidents, you’ll keep the wheels turning and make sure every urgent request is delivered with precision and care.
You’ll thrive in fast‑paced, high‑responsibility situations, lead a dedicated night team, and work at the intersection of logistics, safety, and service continuity. Every night is different—and every night you’ll make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities
* Emergency Logistics Coordination – respond quickly to urgent overnight requests, prioritise and dispatch drivers with essential materials using SAP and Masternaut systems.
* Night Warehouse Oversight – manage and support warehouse operations, ensuring reactive scheduling, part picking, and stock checks are completed efficiently.
* Health & Safety Leadership – uphold and enforce all transport legislation and safety standards, deliver briefings, ensure compliance, and maintain a safe environment for all staff.
* Team Leadership – line‑manage a team of night drivers, drive performance and ensure safe and effective shift operations.
* Out‑of‑Hours Support – provide on‑call emergency driving cover on a rotating basis and attend key afternoon team briefings when required.
What it takes to be a Logistics Night Operations Manager
You’ll be a confident communicator who can motivate and mentor your team while maintaining a strong safety‑first mindset, always enforcing high standards and compliance. Adaptable and proactive, you’ll handle unforeseen challenges with ease, using your problem‑solving skills to identify root causes and drive effective solutions. Honesty, reliability, and the ability to work independently are essential, alongside a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and sharp attention to detail. Your leadership will inspire and support your team to deliver outstanding results every night.
Experience and Skills
* Class 2 Driving License (C) – Essential
* Line management experience in a logistics/operations environment, with examples of safety ownership
* IT competent (Microsoft Office 365 suite)
* Experience with warehouse inventory management and/or transport management systems
* Health and safety management qualifications (IOSH, SMSTS) – Desirable
* MHE trained (reach truck / counterbalance / Moffett) – Desirable
* HIAB lift experience, slinger/signaller and/or lift supervisor – Desirable
* SAP S/4 Warehouse Management system experience – Desirable
* Driving Licence (C+E) – Desirable
* Completed DQC card CPC – Essential
* Additional driver vocational training (e.g. ADR) – Desirable
