Location: Falmer, with travel across Hampshire/Isle of Wight, Sussex & Kent
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Starting from £32,700 per annum

Southern Water is offering an exciting opportunity to join our Water Asset Management team as a Technical Programme Planner. This newly created role is perfect for individuals with a passion for strategic planning, data analysis, and infrastructure development.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Technical Programme Planner, you’ll:

4. Analyse data to prioritise work and guide investment decisions
5. Monitor project progress and support suppliers with technical studies
6. Ensure teams have access to the systems and resources they need
7. Help build and refine our long-term business plans
8. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders
9. Support engineers in developing effective, sustainable solutions

You’ll also contribute to strategic planning by:

10. Promoting excellence in Health & Safety across planning activities
11. Prioritising risk-based investments to meet programme targets
12. Aligning investment options with business goals and outcomes
13. Supporting workshops and decision-making processes
14. Helping implement plans aligned with regulatory frameworks (e.g. WRMP, DWMP)
15. Communicating investment programmes clearly to stakeholders
16. Supporting cost-benefit analysis and whole-life costing

Who We’re Looking For

This role is ideal for someone who:

17. Has previous work experience in heavily regulated environments, such as utilities
18. Experienced with data analysis
19. Is curious about infrastructure planning and asset management
20. Enjoys solving problems and working collaboratively
21. Has strong analytical skills and attention to detail
22. Wants to make a long-term impact on water services and sustainability

Package

23. This role will be full time Monday to Friday 37 hours a week
24. Southern Water operate a hybrid approach to working between our sites and home
25. We are offering a salary starting from £32.700 per annum depending on skills and experience as well as other benefits including:
