Role Overview:
Looking for an experienced CNC Setter/Operator with a strong background in turning operations. The ideal candidate will be capable of setting and operating CNC turning centres, working with a range of materials, and producing high-quality components with accuracy and efficiency. They should have strong technical knowledge and the ability to follow prepared tooling and process sheets, as well as perform machine-side edits when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC turning centres.
Conduct program edits and adjustments as required.
Use conversational CNC systems (Mazatrol, Hurco) where necessary.
Ensure programmes run efficiently and produce high-quality components.
Work safely in accordance with company health and safety policies.
Perform general duties supporting the efficient running of the section.Essential Candidate Requirements:
Proven CNC setting and operating experience on 2-axis turning centres.
Strong knowledge of CNC programming, including Fanuc and conversational systems (Mazatrol/Hurco).
Competent in setting, proving, and adjusting programmes.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Solid understanding of materials, cutting tools, speeds, and feeds.
Experienced with measuring instruments (micrometres, verniers, callipers).
Ability to work to a high degree of precision and complexity.
Strong planning and prioritisation skills, capable of executing jobs under pressure.Desirable Candidate Attributes:
Familiarity with aerospace quality systems.
Experience with mill/turn machines, Y-axis turning, and sub-spindle operations.
Recognisable apprenticeship or formal training in a relevant engineering discipline.Salary: £18-£21 per hour
Shift pattern: Monday to Thursday: 7:30-16:30, Friday: 7:30-12:00
