Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Dog Carer to join our team. The working hourd are around 10-2pm, you must be able to and be comfortable driving a company van to safely transport dogs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animals and committed to providing exceptional care whilst collecting, exercising, socialising and returning the dogs home. This role offers an opportunity to work outdoors in all weathers, enjoy the company of a pack of dogs, and contribute positively to their wellbeing, socialising and training. The position is on a self employed/contractor basis and suitable for individuals who enjoy physical activity and have a genuine love for animals.
Responsibilities
* Collecting dogs from their home, safely exercising them and returning them home.
* Monitor behaviour and health during walks, responding appropriately to any issues
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including cleaning up after dogs
* Communicate with pet owners regarding their pets' behaviour or any concerns
* Follow specific care instructions provided by pet owners or veterinary professionals
* Assist with basic animal care tasks as needed, including feeding or administering medication (if qualified)
* Ensure all equipment used is in good condition and report any damages or issues
Skills
* Experience working with animals, particularly dogs, is highly desirable, especially veterinary experience or animal care knowledge
* Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with pet owners
* Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments safely and confidently
* Physical fitness for heavy lifting tasks such as managing large or energetic dogs
* Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility
* Good communication skills to provide updates to pet owners and team members
* Have a clear DBS and dog first aid certification.
* Be local to Etwall/Mickleover.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £14.50-£15.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
