Freight Liability Claims Handler
Location: Kent/Hybrid
Salary: £50,000 - 65,000 PA

The Role:
As a Claims Handler – Freight Liability, you will be responsible for managing and processing claims related to freight liability. You will conduct thorough investigations, assess liability, and negotiate settlements while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse claims, ensuring compliance with national and international regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Handling freight liability claims from customers, carriers, brokers, and insurers.
* Investigating claims, reviewing documentation, and assessing liability under relevant laws and conventions.
* Appointing surveyors or legal representatives where necessary.
* Negotiating settlements with insurers, brokers, and other involved parties.
* Providing advice to clients on claim prospects, liability limits, and loss prevention.
* Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with legal time bars.
* Identifying opportunities for process improvements and risk mitigation.
Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years of experience in freight liability claims handling.
* Strong knowledge of freight liability regulations, international conventions, and insurance policies.
* Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders.
* Ability to manage multiple claims efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
