Manager - Calgary, AB, Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME)
Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering (RME) is hiring for a Manager! The Regional Portfolio Manager will be the main RME Point of Contact (POC) and provide RME support for multiple sites within the Amazon delivery station network.
The goal of our team is to exceed customer expectations by ensuring their orders are delivered quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively. We strive to innovate and provide top-tier service through new products and services. Amazon seeks a strategic leader to oversee maintenance, repair, and vendor management operations supporting Global Specialty Fulfillment (GSF) across North America.
This role manages multiple complex projects and influences relationships across all organizational levels.
Key Job Responsibilities:
1. Manage engineering and commissioning of complex projects.
2. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to site teams, vendors, and leaders across Amazon units.
3. Coordinate information flow between teams.
4. Develop long-term strategies, assist in negotiations, and cost reduction initiatives.
5. Source vendors and hold them accountable to KPIs and service scopes.
6. Manage a team of 10 direct reports.
7. Travel domestically up to 70% based on business needs.
8. Role is open to candidates in North East states.
The candidate should demonstrate the ability to build effective relationships and be on-call 24/7 for issues in their area.
A typical day involves high travel, working with direct reports and operations in a fast-paced environment, and maintaining KPI metrics while encouraging innovation.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* 7+ years of employee and performance management experience.
* 5+ years in distribution or manufacturing with mechanical or electrical expertise.
* 7+ years in facilities management, office management, or related fields.
* Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of Amazon experience.
* Flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, or holidays.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience with electrical, mechanical, and automation controls for equipment reliability.
* Experience with conveyor systems, electrical schematics, CMMS, preventive maintenance, and industrial controls.
