Overview
We are recruiting a Network Construction Business Lead to plan and complete all mains renewal activity across the south region, overseeing a team of up to 150 people.
Responsibilities
* Act as the appointed Principal Contractor under CDM (Construction Design Management) Rules, coordinating and managing the construction phase of the project.
* Ensure health and safety of everyone involved in the construction work in line with external CDM Rules.
* Set and direct the strategy for the regional area, collaborating with other Network Construction Business Leader peers to drive and implement the overall AMP8 Mains Renewal strategy.
* Oversee and be accountable for a large area of the business, driving improved performance across the region.
* Control a budget in the millions, managing both direct and indirect costs.
* Hold overall responsibility for a team of up to 150 people, including Network Construction Managers, Logistics Managers, and Reinstatement Managers.
* Chair executive meetings to gather views, develop actions, and deliver outcomes.
Qualifications
* Good understanding of CDM Regulations and ability to demonstrate this in practice.
* Past experience working within a utility‑based industry and managerial experience.
* Excellent communication skills, able to discuss project processes with internal and external stakeholders.
* Valid full UK driving licence, as travel is required.
* Strong character, positivity and caring attitude valued.
