Senior Biomedical Scientist – Histology

Up to £45,000.00 per annum, depending on experience

As a Senior Biomedical Scientist at our Tunbridge Wells Hospital, you’ll bring relevant qualifications and laboratory experience in multidisciplinary biomedical science. You should have a good working knowledge of different analytical equipment across various techniques. You are a natural communicator and team player, sharing our commitment to quality.
As a Senior Biomedical Scientist, your responsibilities will include:
* Delivering quality pathology services and participating in out-of-hours service as required.
* Cutting 30 or more blocks per hour.
* Understanding histology processes, from specimen preparation to processing, embedding, and staining.
* Interacting with consultant histopathologists.
* Maintaining full UKAS compliance.
* Performing biomedical diagnostic testing, interpretation, reporting, and quality control.
* Keeping records of specimens, results, reagents, and consumables.
* Supporting the validation and assessment of new equipment and developing new diagnostic procedures to enhance patient care.
Qualifications and skills required:
* Relevant laboratory experience in multidisciplinary biomedical science.
* Good working knowledge of analytical equipment across various techniques.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Understanding the importance of maintaining good customer relationships and providing high-quality service in a modern pathology laboratory.
