Overview
Our client, a leading international airline, is seeking an
Operations Manager
to join its maintenance division in Glasgow. This is a leadership role focused on developing and delivering departmental strategy, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance while motivating and empowering teams to achieve business objectives.
The role requires a strong people leader with aviation expertise who can balance operational demands with strategic improvement initiatives. You will play a pivotal part in shaping business performance, building stakeholder relationships, and embedding a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
Responsibilities
* Design and implement departmental strategies aligned to business objectives.
* Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
* Oversee resource planning to maximise efficiency and meet workload demands.
* Maintain and promote a safe working environment, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
* Lead cost-saving and performance improvement initiatives year-on-year.
* Develop and deliver business and financial plans, supported by accurate reporting and dashboards.
* Manage service level agreements with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
* Build strong cross-functional relationships within engineering and across the airline.
* Foster a collaborative employee relations climate, working with trade unions through meaningful engagement.
* Coach and develop managers, ensuring a strong talent pipeline.
* Champion continuous improvement and embed a proactive, delivery-focused culture.
Requirements
* CAA Part-66 B Licence required.
* Leadership or management qualification, or equivalent experience.
* Demonstrable structured leadership training desirable.
* Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams through change.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to make fact-based decisions.
* Proven ability to forecast and anticipate future operational challenges.
* Confident in challenging the status quo to drive performance improvements.
