Description
To contribute to the Department’s aim in providing high quality learning and teaching, assisting in the development, organisation and delivery of the curriculum area – Health. Managing, reviewing and assessing a range of programmes and levels across the Health strand, and providing tutor support. To ensure that the achievement rates of learners are at or above the level set by the college.
Bank contract/zero hours.
Unqualified Lecturers – Full Time equivalent: £30,348 - £32,186.
Qualified Lecturers – Full Time equivalent: £32,186 - £40,015.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high standards of teaching and learning and monitor assessment processes in accordance with awarding body requirements. Provide induction, initial assessment, advice and guidance to learners in full-time programmes.
* Deliver departmental requirements of core and additional programmes, specifically with a clinical health focus.
* Support the delivery of T Level Health, BTEC Level 3 Health and Social Care, and higher education programmes as required by curriculum demands.
* Produce schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and related activities that impact the effectiveness of learning.
* Co‑ordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.
* Communicate external examination entry and timetable arrangements to the course team and students, and deal with queries when supervising learners.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
* Relevant qualification in health.
* Experience working in a care or clinical setting such as hospital ward, nursing, medical, care home, nursing home, or domiciliary care.
* GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade C or above.
* Demonstrated understanding and commitment to fulfilling quality assurance requirements of awarding bodies and the college.
* Knowledge of the BTEC Level 3 Qualifications framework and/or Health Care T Levels.
