Job Description:
Join our team as a Payroll Administrator at Midlands Care Head Office, where you will play a key role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for managing the full payroll cycle, handling statutory payments, and supporting pension and financial reporting processes.

Responsibilities:
* Process and review payroll from start to finish, ensuring all deadlines are met
* Perform manual calculations for SSP, SMP, Tax, NI, and overpayments
* Support year-end processes including P11D/P9D production
* Maintain a strong understanding of RTI and auto-enrolment procedures
* Collect and process weekly timesheets and manage absence records accurately
* Respond to staff queries regarding pay, absences, and timesheets, escalating as needed
* Independently manage UK payroll processes and handle ad hoc payroll tasks
* Process statutory payments, attachment orders, and deductions through benefit schemes
* Provide pension-related administrative support
* Manage new starters, leavers, statutory leave and pay processes
* Reconcile fixed pay instructions such as salary changes and uplifts
* Prepare payroll journals and submit required data to finance for accurate reporting
Requirements:
* Proven experience in payroll administration, ideally within a care or healthcare setting
* Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements
* Proficiency in manual payroll calculations and payroll software systems
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
* Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and management
* Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
Salary: £26,000 to £29,000 per annum, depending on experience.
